Cookie Policy

Last updated: 22 September 2026 (Consent Mode update)
Short version: we use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read — nothing else. We use Google's official "Consent Mode": the tag loads on every page, but it's blocked from storing any cookie or identifying you until you click "Accept" on the banner. Decline (or ignore it) and no analytics cookie is ever set. You can change your mind any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Strictly necessary (always on, no consent needed)

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and protected by Cloudflare's network. In normal operation this sets no cookies. If Cloudflare ever needs to run a security check (for example, during unusual traffic that looks like an attack), it may briefly set a security cookie to let you through — this is exempt from consent requirements under GDPR/ePrivacy because it's essential to the site functioning safely, not used for tracking or profiling.

We also store one small item in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) to remember your cookie choice itself, so we don't ask you every visit.

Analytics (only with your consent)

CookieSet byPurposeDuration
_ga, _ga_* Google Analytics Distinguishes visitors, counts page views and basic traffic stats Up to 2 years

We use this to see aggregate numbers — how many visitors, which pages, roughly where from — not to build individual profiles or sell data to anyone. Google's own handling of this data is covered by their privacy policy.

These cookies are only set after you click Accept on the consent banner. Google's tag itself is present on the page either way (that's how Google verifies the site correctly, and it allows privacy-safe aggregate reporting even without consent) — but it's instructed to deny all storage by default, so nothing gets written to your browser and you're not identified unless you explicitly accept.

Change your mind

Click "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page to re-open the banner and change your choice — it takes effect immediately, no reload needed.

Clicking "Download" or "Source" takes you to GitHub, governed by GitHub's own cookie policy — not something we control.

The desktop app

Cookies are a browser concept and don't apply to the Windows app itself. See the Privacy Policy for what the app sends and to whom.
